Some notes from my Phase II Critique.

--"started making things"-this is how art gets made (thanks Sarah)
--sunrise/sunset
--love drips
--drawings still tight -try bigger canvas
--pieces without people very successful -don't need people in them
--good on canvas, flat surface (doesn't curl like paper) -nice texture
--color says so much
--"hands" look awkward (reference to cartwheels)
--faded words -push it -very emotional
--Shahzia show -GO!
--covered text looks good -asking viewer to pay more attention
--reference to word portrait (http://meghan-robbins.blogspot.com/2011/02/see-think-wonder-part-1.html)
--turned canvas -smart choice (think about sides while working on the piece)
--do things with papers (books from papers behind canvases)
--play with text
--looks like lightning
